Please add some HTML markup to non hidden excerpts

If I use a non hidden excerpt, the excerpts content will be written as plain text into the page.
No <span>, no <p> no <div> nor classes or ids.
Therefor there is no way to address the excerpt for formatting.
Please add at least a little bit of markup.
