    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Confluence 4+ allows a restrictive set of safe URL protocols to be stored and displayed. This is more restrictive than Confluence 3, and customers are running into issues with the new restrictions.

      The current set is http,https,ftp,file,smb,irc,news,nntp,feed,cvs,git,svn,mvn,ssh,itms,notes,mailto

It would be nice if we could store unrecognised links in storage format and only restrict them at view time. Similarly it would be nice if additional protocols could be added by administrators at runtime.

[CONFSERVER-25589] Allow additional external URL styles in links
