This feature seems to be available (only for end users, not for admins..) in Confluence Cloud since months now, but still no news on Confluence Server/Data Center.

not getting a notifications in general should even be a default in my opinion. For us it got so bad that people are just directly deleting anything coming from confluence and having a very negative attitude towards confluence in general.

As an admin it would be great for us to be able to set it up.

• Send notification when publishing a page/space
• Send notification after editing a page/space
• Send notification to the followers
• Send notification to @........
  And that this can be set per group, person.

There is already 'Publish without notifying watchers'. An option to 'Publish without notifying anybody' would be great. Until then, I have had to resolve to not @mention anyone on pages I manage - the spam it creates results in many colleagues ignoring all Confluence emails. Please fix this

I'd also like to bump this issue as I am working on a lot of documentation for multiple organizations and need to be able to save pages without spamming the people tagged in it

I've had to block all email from confluence as spam at the company level.  I'm extremely frustrated at Atlassian's failure to address this issue. 

Also interested in being able to enable/disable this feature as an admin, on a system wide level.

While many do not yet understand how poor email communication is, I think Atlassian would be better utilizing the performance of the system to allow notifications via other means of communication rather than email. Every option that allows notification via email should have a method to disable the notification, without hindering another form of notification, such as not disabling the app notification when disabling the email notification. It may be best to have a separate category altogether or subset of each category within the notifications for the app as well as the email. I see this as being an added benefit for developers in assisting with developing apps for non-Cloud products since the Atlassian app is not currently available for non-Cloud instances.

When you have the app, getting mentions by mail is redundant. I still want mentions to be enabled, I just don't want emails for them.

Facing the same trouble now at our Cloud Confluence instance. We'd appreciate a solution a lot, as the notifications are currently terrifying several colleagues. So +1
