It is not possible to deselect "Subscribe to recommended updates" in the user profile.

To reproduce the problem, go to the "Settings" tab in your user profile and choose "Email". Edit the email settings, and remove the tick in the check box for "Subscribe to recommended updates". Save your changes. The tick re-appears in the check box.

I have tried this on CAC (Confluence 4.2-rc1) and EAC (Confluence 4.3-CDOG-1700).

Having a little trouble here. I've attempted to disable "Subscribe to recommended updates" under my Profile settings but after making the change and hitting Submit the change does not take affect. I cannot disable this for myself (or any other user).
