All title formatting keyboard shortcuts like cmd + 1 are not functional in Safari 5.1.x because they interfere with the browser default shortcuts for bookmarks.
I wonder how this went by unnoticed since more than half of Atlassian is using Macs...

[CONFSERVER-24804] Safari browser shortcuts override functionality in the editor

In Safari 15.1 you can't use the ⌘ + ⌃ workaround, as these are bound to actions such as opening the sidebar.

However, there is now an option in Preferences > General to disable using ⌘ + 0-9 to open tabs... but even with that, I can't get ⌘ + 1 to work... it just does nothing at all.

            ⌘ + 0, and ⌘ + 2 - 8 still work though

Was running into the same issue and realized thanks to CONF-40659 that pressing CMD + CTRL + 1 does the trick. Apparently the shortcut indicated in the Headings menu is not accurate. Other than that I'd consider this resolved.

Are there any plans to address this? I'm using Safari 9. By default Command-[1-9] open the respective tabs. You can disable in Safari preferences but then Command-[1-9] opens the respective Favorites. If you delete all of your Favorites it does nothing, but in Confluence it still doesn't change formatting.

If the shortcuts in Confluence were customizable we'd at least have a work around.

Any chance to resolve? Or may be you implement editable shortcuts?

            Humm,

cmd+1+2... is not working with chrome here. other shortcuts (save, edit,...) are working.

Stefan, thanks for reporting it. I guess most of us use Chrome or Firefox and this bug gone unnoticed.
