Sometimes I want to find just the text that is capitalised, or all caps.
Or, I want to replace "Stash" with "STASH".

Just like the 'Match case' functionality in Firefox...

[CONFSERVER-24652] Make find and replace case sensitive

            Adam,
Thank you for the update. Honestly, though, the above is disappointing. My case to implement this feature would be that:

            1. Other word processors do it.
            2. There may be times in a document when case really matters. If I have a product called "Vendor Widget",  and the name is changing to "Vendors Widget", it would be useful to find ONLY those instances of "Vendor" that start with a capital V. e.g. There may be sentences such as "If you are a vendor....".

            Thanks again.

If anything, Steve understates how useful this feature is. Word Processors have had this feature for decades. DECADES! Even Notepad has case-sensitivity in their Find and Replace.

It is - frankly - ridiculous for a modern publishing tool not to have this.

            Bill,

Thanks for your above comment. However, I would like to request you guys revisit it, esp. since it's been over two years since it was closed.

Word processors (such as MS Word) have case-sensitive find-replace as an option. I think this functionality is basic enough so that Confluence should support it. A simple check box next to the find/replace fields would be great.

Example: if I have a name of a field in a database (e.g. "selling price") which should be "Selling Price", I'd like to identify all instances where it is lower case, and change to upper case.

Example: The name "Bob" can also be a verb "bob".  I decide I want Bob's name to be "Bill". But, I do not want my global replace to include the verb "bob".

            etc.

            Thanks,
            Steve
