Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
I would like to see the concept of user roles (as applied in JIRA) to the access control of Confluence. If combined with the capability of copying the access privileges too when copying a space, this could ease the creation of new (project) spaces from template spaces greatly.
This way, the Comalatech Ad-Hoc workflow plugin could use roles instead of users or groups for approval, and the space "owner" - i.e. the Project Manager - would not be required to have admin rights for the space, beyond adding and removing people from roles.
