crossing out of text does not work

When we cross out paragraphs or sentences in the text editor, often they are not crossed out, instead, a single "-" appears in front and after the sentences. It is annoying when we try to edit larger documents together.

Replicate:

• create page
• enter text in a few paragraphs
• mark some of the text
• choose the "cross out function"
• save
• text is not being crossed out entirely, I think especially if "-"s are involved in the text but not always. see attached picture
