Could it please be a personal option what the result of typing in the following would be:

[This is a new link] But because I of habit ended it with typing "]" Confluence did not think so.

I would RARELY if ever enter a text block surrounded by "[","]" that was not meant to be a link, so it is just frustrating to me. Besides I would be use to starting and ending it with \ anyways.

But as some might the perfect solution would be to make this a personal option.

It is also highly important that https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23884 is solved along it.

I created at least 9 out of 10 pages by adding a link before...
