IE8
- Create a new page in IE8.
- Add a large amount of content to the page, such that the editor window cannot contain all of it at once.
I recommend copying a whole article from somewhere like http://alistapart.com - Save the page.
- Edit the page again.
- Scroll half-way down the page.
- Select a single word from one of the paragraphs on the screen.
- Copy the content (via the keyboard shortcut).
- Click somewhere else in the paragraph, like next to the word.
- Paste.
The editor window jumps briefly, then settles with the line of content you just pasted sitting flush against the editor's bottom toolbar.
The reason I know that the cursor jumps as well is that if you now hit the Undo keyboard shortcut, the cursor will be at the start of the document. Indeed, if you position the cursor somewhere in the document before you copy and paste, the cursor seems to jump back there when you undo a paste action.
