Cannot do site-wide search for macros used on pages

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

I often need to search my Confluence site, to see where a specific macro is used, or to find a specific use of a given macro. I used to be able to do that by enclosing my search in double quotes and entering the relevant bit of wiki markup.

      For example:

      • To search for all inclusion macros that include the page called "_QRG_Colour", I just entered the following text into the search box:
        "include:_QRG_Colour"
      • To search for all inclusion macros, I entered "{include".
      • To search for all children macros, I entered "{children"

This no longer works, or at least I can't find a way of making it work. Please restore the functionality or document a workaround. It is essential for maintaining technical documentation.

An alternative would be for Confluence to provide a cross-reference, maybe at space level, of where each macro is used.
