      Hello,

We really love confluence. And one of the best things in it is "Wiki markup" tab.
It's gone since last update. We want it back.

I cannot stress you how hard it is for us to edit our documents without this tool. You should try to do it by yourself or read comments on the page which describes new cool editor.

I know you did a great job and the new editor is very smart, but this is the situation when coders are coding for the code.

          Form Name

[CONFSERVER-23662] Please bring "Wiki" tab back in editor

I wish I could provide you with the source of that page, how can I do it?
            I've talked about this issue:
            https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23420

@Dmitry I tried to reproduce your problem with bullet lists not displaying properly in PDFs. Using the HTML you provided above the PDF looks fine when generated on a 4.0.3 instance of Confluence. Would you be able to provide me with a HTML snippet that still has the unicode characters intact? Maybe this problem is related to the use of unicode characters for some reason.
When you mention that Confluence 4.0 does not work with unicode in a proper way, which functionality of Confluence are you referring to?

            Cheers,
            Chris

Dmitry: I've added https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23742 requesting such a plugin.

I've learned how to view the source via "View Storage Format" and I know how to get access to these pages via WebDav, so I'll fix this issue in a minute.

This is how your editor formats the list. Once again the list looks great on the screen, but never looks fine in PDF.

            <p align="center" style="text-align: left;">???? ?? ??????????? ????? ?????? - ??????????? ?????? ?? ??????????? ??????? ? ????? ? ???? ????????. ?? ????? ???? ???????? ???????????? ?????? ????? ? ????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ????? ???????? <span> </span></p>

Unfortunately, version 4.0 we have cannot work with unicode in a proper way, so you see "?????" instead of text.

This cannot be fixed using your editor. At least we didn't find a way to fix it.

I still have no ideas why don't you guys add a button "Edit Storage Format"?

I'll try to do it. Also I'll try to check the source code of this page.

            Hi Dmitry,

Can you advise the steps to recreate your issue? I'm unclear as to whether you just created the list in the page then tried to export to PDF (which I just did a few times myself which worked fine) or whether you were trying to copy a list from another document, paste it into the wiki then export to PDF?

If you can advise the complete steps so I can reproduce this specific issue I'll raise a bug for you.

            Thanks,
            John

Used it for one day. Please give back wikimarkup mode! I'm suffering VERY angry users.

Several days ago I was late to the meeting with very perspective customer. I had to waste 30 min playing with a list!
We've listed advantages of our company, and they looked great on the screen, but we were not able to export it to PDF. We had to copy it to notepad, to clear formating, paste it to your editor, add several linebreaks, jump on my left leg 2 times, and after that... nothing worked. Text looked ugly in PDF. Same document, same fonts. We've spent 30 min trying to find a way when your editor will make a normal list.

Instead of switching to wiki tab and fixing 1 or 2 broken tags, I had to play in a quest called: "Let's use new editor. It's COOL, but doesn't work today."

I've read about technical part of these changes, and I understand what exactly you are doing, but you are moving in a wrong way. It's like making layout for web pages in MS Word or Dreamviewer. It sucks.

Sorry for saying these words, but I have to go and jump on my left leg, instead of having a great time with you wonderful products, like it was before.

You should also remove versions for documents, greenhopper, and combine jira, confluence, bamboo, fisheye, in one great product to make as "GREAT" as your new editor.

And BTW: Why do not you rewrite everything on ASP.NET? And stop using Flash for uploader in JIRA! We have silverlight or HTML5. I've heart it's very COOL but has nothing with reality.

            Hi Dmitry,

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the PDF export functionality. If you've confirmed this is a repeatable bug then giving us the specifics in a new 'bug' raised here would be most helpful. If you are having other difficulties with it but are not sure it's a specific bug then you might like to raise a support ticket instead at http://support.atlassian.com

I can't pick up anything specific in your original description above that indicates exactly what troubles you are having with the new editor but if there are specific bugs there that you would also like to raise for the editor here then again that would be helpful to us.

As this specific request is for the return of wiki markup to Confluence, which will not be happening, I will close this ticket.

            Thanks,
            John
