Firefox WebDAV plugin does not automatically associate with most Office file types

      The Firefox WebDAV plugin currently only automatically associates the .doc file format. This causes it to do nothing when a user clicks on "Edit in Office" or "Edit in Word" links that point to files with the following extensions:

      • ppt
      • pptx
      • ppsx
      • pot
      • potx
      • pptm
      • docx
      • dot
      • dotx
      • xls
      • xlt
      • xlsx
      • xlst
      • xlsm

      It would be ideal if the programs that handled all these files were added automatically when installing the WebDAV plugin.

      Workaround

      Manually add each extension and the path to the program that should handle it to the plugin by going to Tools > WebDAV Launcher Options.
