      Problem

The problem is related to the field Name when creating a directory on Confluence. When creating a second directory using the same name as an existent directory, Confluence crash.

The following errors are shown in the atlassian-confluence.log:

2011-07-01 10:42:08,347 ERROR [http-444-4] [sf.hibernate.util.JDBCExceptionReporter] logExceptions Duplicate entry 'active directory server' for key 'lower_directory_name'

      2011-07-01 10:42:12,784 ERROR [QuartzScheduler_Worker-10] [atlassian.crowd.directory.DbCachingDirectoryPoller] pollChanges Error occurred while refreshing the cache for directory [ 29786115 ].
com.atlassian.crowd.exception.DirectoryNotFoundException: Directory <29786115> does not exist

We could prevent this problem by denying creation of a second directory using the same name as the first.

      Fix

      There is none yet.

      Workaround

Restart Confluence and recreate the directory choosing a different name.
