Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
We are using Delegated LDAP Authentication in 3.5. In Confluence prior to version 3.5, the administrator could assign LDAP users to Confluence groups and then allow them to log in.
In version 3.5 and higher:
- LDAP users must login first (so that a Confluence user is created)
- Be auto assigned to the confluence-users group
- Then contact the administrator
- Then the Administrator updates the user / group details
- Then the admin contacts the user to let them know that they now have access to the additional space / group.
This process is too slow and cumbersome.
The Administrator should be able to view all users in the LDAP directory, create them as Confluence users and fully set up their access rights / groups.
