When importing a doc file and split it in many level. An image which is frequently used by many pages is unable to display. This is due to the reason that the image is stored at the parent page and the child page is only calling the image by "!imagename.png!" rather than "!parent^imangename.png!".

      Step to reproduce

      1. Import the following TC17_UG_indexes1.doc
      2. Split by heading: Level 4 Headings
      3. Import it

After the import, some pages will display a similar error as below:

This only happens when you are splitting with multiple level of headings.

      Workaround

      Workaround 1
You may need to edit the image link in wiki markup on each missing links

      Workaround 2

      1. Install Global Search and Replace Plugin
      2. Find the image at the parent page
      3. Replace this wiki markup "!imagename.png!" with "!parent^imagename.png!" to all pages under the parent page

[CONFSERVER-21852] Some image have not been imported at Word import

Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for quite some time with very little progress being made. Rather than leave this issue here I'm going to close this out as won't fix. I believe this better reflects the status of the issue.

            Regards

This has been observed with Confluence 4.0.5.

An apparent difference is that the image is not stored at the parent page, but simply at the first page referring to it. In our case, the document imported was referring to the same image from several chapters on the same level. So in order to make the image visible to all referrer pages, I had to manually move the image to their common parent page.

            Hi Cristian,

Workaround 2 only works from the parent page where it holds the attachment and it goes downwards to its children pages.

            Hope that clear your doubts.

            Cheers,

Anyone actually working on fixing bugs ? Even a comment is not responded, not to mention solving the issues itself...

Question: the workaround 2 is supposed to work for any page where are inserted this images ?
