This fix is in the 4.0 beta to be released shortly

This is becoming a bigger issue for our company. I asked about the https situation and was told by my guy in the NOC that this would be a more difficult thing to do, as we would need to buy certificates for all the sites running on the server, which is about 10. We have a pretty complicate setup there, so they would like to see if there are any other options other than the https one. Thanks!

I honestly can't believe this hasn't been fixed. Over the weekend we finally upgraded to 3.4.6 so I checked the status of this item and just can't believe it.

I can second Ryan's comment that HTTPS functions on Office 2010. An SSL certificate is cheap from godaddy and only requires an hour on the admin's side. We successfully updated our confluence instance in the course of a couple hours.

From preliminary testing, the problem appears to be that Office 2010 does not allow basic authentication to WebDAV servers that aren't using https.

This means that a relatively simple fix is having Confluence use https instead http. If you can't do this, it's possible to override this behavior via a registry setting on individual computers accessing Confluence. Please see this Microsoft knowledge base article for more information.

We are also looking at the possibility of adding Digest authentication to Confluence to workaround this issue. However, this work is not currently scheduled.

Please fix this soon! My company is rolling out Office 2010 in 2 months and this will totally stall out our adoption of Confluence. I hate Sharepoint and don't want to go back!!!

My insurance company is rolling our MS Office in about three months, hence support for MS Off 2010 is soon needed to avoid many unhappy faces... Thanks!

Any more updates? Our bank is deploying Office 2010 in July, and we will lose momentum in our Confluence deployment without this support.

IE9.0 / Win7 / Office 2010 ... doesn't work.

This issue is of absolute importance to us and will be a make or break feature to a number of large roll outs. Could we please have some sort of feedback as to when this will be resolved? Also why not make an Office 2010 plugin that could connect to confluence pages and open documents from Office, similar to hummingbird and other document management systems.
