Quick Live search fail to highlight search string when there is umlauts

When searching for umlauts, for example: mahngebühren, Confluence can return the search result fine but Confluence live search fail to highlight the search string.

This is because the umlauts search string is coming back broken, as can be seen in the Firebug Response tab in the screenshot.
