When you search for words in Confluence that contain characters which are not letters, these are stripped out by the tokeniser when performing a search.
This means such searches sometimes do not return any results or return results that do not really match the search criteria.
Some example searches that don't work properly:
- C++
- MySQL 4.x
- 5.3.7
- MPEG-LA
