      At present there's no way to include dynamic content in a header or footer of a pdf. Allowing macros to be exported or something similar may be a way to work around this issue.

            [CONFSERVER-16733] Allow dynamic content in headers/footers of pdf exports

            This feature request is "only" 9 years old.

            Pace yourselves, the implementation of basic QoL features takes some time with Atlassian.

            Look at this issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-1369

            Only took 15 years to start implementation, so I'm confident that we will have dynamic content in headers and footers within the next 5-10 years

            I wish someone can start a page to collect all the custom examples, or at least share a good way to debug this thing. I found it's very to slow to find out how things should work.

            I need dynamic adding of the project name/description in the export title page for PDF exports, e.g.:

            <div class="fsTitlePage">
            ...
            <div class="fsTitle">Project description</div>
            ...
            </div>

            I have been following this issue since like 2012, it's a joke that Atlassian is unable to solve it.

            You need more unique votes and comments? Then here's another comment.

            Atlassian should just set these issues to WONTFIX after a 5 years. Sigh.

            Headers & Footers don't work for individual pages & can't add dynamic relevant data such as:

            • current date/time
            • document title / name / URL
            • breadcrumbs
            • Page # of ##

            however I am unable to do this in Confluence 5.5.4.
            Are these 2 issues going to be fixed please?
            If so, when please?

            Why can't you use the top page for the title of export pdf in header or the first item in table of contents for the title in header. Both of these are known.

            This feature request is from 2009 and no one can figure out how to implement it!!?? This is obviously a needed feature and hope that you refocus your effort on finding a way to implement it.

            I was more than a little surprised when I realised I couldn't easily do this... Still can't figure out it.

            Combining Adapatavist Page Information tools and CustomWare Visibility plugin allow such feature to be implemented on Confluence and still keep the page content intact as the macro won't be displayed when rendered. Please refer to this comment, however please note that the user macro mentioned only work on Confluence 3.5 and before.

            Confluence 4.0 user macro would not be able to render the wiki markup macro syntax and it need to be adjust correctly in order to get the same result

            Hi Guys,
            Is this going to be fixed? Is there any workaround because this is something which will be very helpful. The only workaround currently seems to be to export to word and edit title there which is extra work.

            Is this request going to be handled in a future release? We have been waiting for dynamic content since the 'new' pdf export in 3.0. In versions prior to 3.0 the url and page name used to print so I wonder why we can't do that now. It seems like a step backwards, not forward.

            it would be very interesting being able to create configurable title pages for spaces (with dymanic content)

            @Wayne Bruinette: Using adaptavists Page Inofrmation Tools plugin you can achieve that pretty easy.
            Just add the plugin and add

            {page-info:modified-user}

            somewhere within your page and it get's printed out to pdf too.

            I'm hoping this feature will enable me to add the name of the person that last edited the page to be exported to PDF... maybe this is currently possible but I don't know how, if anyone out there knows please let me know. It would seem this was possible in the versions prior to 3.0. This should be available for single page exports as well as Space exports.
            PS - We're currently on version 3.1.

            Being able to add dynamic content would be very usefull. Currently a pdf stylesheet is space wide - to add a document title, a heading (h1. h2, etc - I know the hierarchy gets changed for printing), a time/date of generation would solve many of my 'wants'.
