I have changed priority from Major to Critical based on the suggestion by our Expert Ricksoft. They think this is a very severe issue which could influence all CSK characters regions and they can do nothing for it because the office connector is not open source. Please review it.

This issue also happens with Japanese characters.
I suggest changing the title of the issue to multibyte or similar so it would get more attention.

However, I already use java 1.6.

Using different Java versions on the same system yields different results:

OS: Ubuntu 9.10 (Linux ubuntu 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux)

On this system the error can be reproduced with Java 1.5 (java version "1.5.0_17") but the ppt renders ok with Java 1.6 (java version "1.6.0_20").

Now, I'm investigating the proper wiki system for our company with 3 subsidiary companies and 5 branches.
I think Confluence is the best wiki for our company, but it is really important feature to use office macro.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Would I be right in assuming that you are using version 1.5 of the Office Connector plugin?
