RTE: Links containing a hyphen save with an alias, even if not necessary breaking renames

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Create a page with three links using RTE:

      [a]
      [a-b]
      [a b]

Hit save, they will result in:

      [a]
      [a-b|a-b]
      [a b]

Notice that "a-b" is aliased to "a-b", the same as the page's name. This is redundant and also bad for renames. When renaming the page "a-b" to "a-c" for example, all links to that page aren't updated due to the alias.

This must be due to the fact that a hyphen exists in the page name. This happens often with page names such as:

      • server-1.foo.com (technical names of devices, etc)
      • Twentieth-century (hyphenated words)
      • etc
