            Hi There,
We've recently made the (hard) decision to remove status updates from the product. I'm closing this feature request to set expectations with customers.

Please see links and discussion here CONF-38253 for all the detail.

Now we have used 4.3.3 for 6 work days I can see @mention grow slowly, but I can also see a lot of Status Updates that calls for a direct reply og a "re-tweet".
One example could be own adoption status updates with links to new features, Atlasssian University - a lot would reply or re-tweet if it was an obvious option to do so.

Any progress on this feature request, that is highly in demand for adoption purposes? Please update me on the plans for this.

It should be possible to use @mentions in status updates. As a user it should be possible to avoid email storm for each @mention and instead get a list on my personal profile page and the ability to create a list of @mentions on pages.
Also a dedicated activity stream for @mentions would be great.

It works if you mention people the old way, i.e. username.

Although, it does not get rendered properly everywhere. My case: when listing labels used in status updates (hashtags).

Our organization is making a big push to emphasize the social component of Confluence. Being able to interact with Status Updates is critical.

Is there any plan for this feature to be included? Maybe 4.0 ?

We are really looking for such a functionality to be bundled in when planning the deployment of Confluence or some other enterprise social software suite.

It would also be nice to have the chance to specify the actions to be notified upon when following a Confluence User. You might be interested just in his/her Update Status changes, but not his/her whole contribution to Confluence.
