Emoticons cannot be used as link alias in the RTE

Add an emoticon using the popup in the RTE.

Highlight the emoticon, and make it a link using the 'insert link' button.

The symbol is changed to the word (e.g. 'tick') and so the link will be saved as

[Tick|DOC:Network Overview]

This renders as the text, not as the emoticon. The user has to edit the wiki markup tab to get the desired behaviour.
