One of the reasons Confluence was selected by our company was so that we could have various blogs about our business contained within the site, and that RSS feeds would be available for these blogs. We have managed to achieve this, but at the cost of security.
In order to read an RSS feed from a space using an RSS aggregator like 'RSS Bandit', that space needs to give permissions to 'Anyone'. Otherwise, the reader is unable to access the RSS feed. One solution is for Confluence to accept HTTP authentication for RSS feeds so that we can keep proprietary blog information secure.
This is critical to company wide adoption of Confluence.
