Would be good to be able to track attachment history ie. added, deleted, modified in a similar way to Confluence's page history.

Meirion, draw.io now forces all edits to take place via the page edit flow, plus correctly tracks diagram revision history against page revision history, see https://support.draw.io/display/DFCS/2015/05/27/Revision+handling+in+draw.io+for+Confluence+Server+5.1. We don't currently have a solution to deleting attachments, but as Brent mentions, you can limit the ability to remove attachments as one possible solution.

Without this feature (also for attached diagrams like Draw.IO, etc...) I can't use confluence for our company documentation, due to our BS ISO 9001:2008 requirement to track all versions of documents, in their original state).

We have implemented a combination of JIRA and Confluence to function as a document control and training system in an FDA regulated (medical device) environment. To overcome this issue, we have a separate space for all our released documents and the permissions there do not allow removal.

Has anyone successfully implemented Confluence as a document repository in a FDA regulated environment? There is a huge potential to use this system, but has anyone been able to work around issues such as this one?

Totally! Would be very nice to compare word docs or similar.

I do agree that would be a great opportunity. We also use Confluence for in regulated environment (ISO, FDA) and this feature is a weak point in the system. Interestingly, such functionality exists in JIRA where you can see the version and changes to the same attachment.

I have a strong vote for this one. The lack of ability to track the removal of an attachment creates a regulatory issue for businesses trying to implement Confluence as a document repository in regulated environments (e.g. FDA, SOX, etc). We are trying to do this in an FDA environment and this is the single issue that is putting our ability to do this at risk.

I agree with the previous comment made - it would be useful to be able to track the attachment history similar to the page history, especially if several users upload and delete attachments. Watching a page is only a partial workaround for this missing feature.

It is not documented (who and when) in the page-history if a file was removed. This feature would be a great improvement.
