Update the linking capability [ ] to include the ability to specify the specific version of a page or attachment. Something like:
[Link Name|Space:Page^Attachment~version]
Currently specific versions of an attachment can be perm-linked to using version=# option
[http://localhost:8080/download/attachments/32789/rosette_icon.png?version=1]
This option does not exist for standard Confluence pages, and does not get updated if the attachment is renamed or moved. Previous page versions can be referenced with their pageId, but the current version cannot be permanently linked to (because when the page is changed, the pageId stays the same and a copy is created for the version history, resulting in a new pageId for the version that used to be the "current" version). The idea would be an option for linking to any page or attachment version that would survive page/attachment renaming or moving, but will always result in the specific version being displayed. Although having a permanent link for a page version (such as the attachment one) would be a wonderful middle step.
The primary business usecase for this request is the ability to give someone a permanent link to the current version of a document that can be referenced (e.g. by auditors) regardless of whether or not the page continues to get updated.
