This affects both Clustered and non clustered environments.
The LDAP cache names by default are like below
<cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.users</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.users_ro</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.repositories</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.groups</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.groups_hasMembership</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.groups_getGroupsForUser</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.repositories</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping>
However they should be as below
<cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.users</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.users_ro</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPUserManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.repository</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.groups</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.groups_hasMembership</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.groups_getGroupsForUser</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.ldap.LDAPGroupManagerReadOnly.ldapRepository.repositories</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping>
Also, the following caches are not defined (by default) and you should add them
<cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.hibernate.HibernateUserManager.hibernateRepository.users</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.hibernate.HibernateUserManager.hibernateRepository.users_ro</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping> <cache-mapping> <cache-name>com.atlassian.user.impl.hibernate.HibernateUserManager.hibernateRepository.repository</cache-name> <scheme-name>user</scheme-name> </cache-mapping>

CONFSERVER-11857 Performance degrades after upgrade - Some internal caches are always 1000 items big, reconfiguring them doesn't work
