Please would you check the SQL statements on the Confluence Upgrade page:

The dev team did verify the SQL statements for 2.8, but perhaps they need something extra.

Can you update the SQL Statements that create indexes to either drop existing or check if it exists already before creating? This script pretty much doesn't work in an upgrade situation as-is.
