Link generation goes through a pretty tortuous path in the wiki rendering engine, much of which makes some radeox-centric assumptions about what we're sending around and what we're planning on doing with it.

We could probably delete a lot of the unnecessary code, and make the whole thing a lot easier to maintain in the process.
