Confluence currently has no retention controls for drafts and their attachments. Abandoned drafts and draft-only attachments accumulate over time, consuming storage and increasing maintenance. Having a built‑in, configurable “Draft Retention Policy” that automatically deletes drafts (and their attachments) after a defined age and admin visibility, similar to existing retention controls for page versions and trash would be useful.

Admins can configure retention for page versions, attachments, and trash, but unpublished drafts are not covered by any similar, supported retention mechanism. This will prevent unbounded growth from abandoned, unpublished work and draft‑only attachments.
