Problem
The current Confluence Cloud notification settings bundle analytics milestone notifications (e.g., "Your page got its first view", "Your page reached 10 views") under the "All space notifications" toggle. There is no way to disable these analytics/milestone notifications without also disabling all other space notifications.
Current Behavior
When a user creates or edits a Confluence page, they receive analytics milestone notifications such as:
- "Your page got its first view 🎉"
- * "Your page reached X views"
These are grouped under "All space notifications" in the unified notification settings (Jira Settings > Personal > Notifications). Disabling "All space notifications" is the only way to stop these, but this is too coarse-grained as it also disables other important space notifications.
Desired Behavior
Add a separate, granular toggle specifically for analytics/milestone notifications, so users can:
- Disable analytics milestone notifications (page view counts, first view celebrations, etc.)
- * While keeping other space notifications enabled (page comments, page updates, etc.)
- * While keeping @mention notifications enabled
Use Case
Many users find the analytics milestone notifications to be spam-like and distracting, especially in active workspaces where they author many pages. Currently the only workaround is to disable ALL space notifications, which causes users to miss important updates about spaces they care about.
Suggested Implementation
Add a dedicated checkbox/toggle in the notification preferences under a new category such as "Analytics & milestones" that controls:
- Page view milestone notifications
- * First view notifications
- * Other analytics-related notifications
This would sit alongside existing toggles for mentions, space notifications, and space access notifications.
