The Confluence recommendations email is only sent when there is relevant content (e.g., new/updated pages, likes, comments) to include. If there is no qualifying activity, no email is generated.

It will be good to send the recommendations email on its scheduled cadence (e.g., every Thursday at 1 pm), even when there is no recommended content for the user. In that case, Confluence would send an “empty” or minimal email indicating that:

• The recommendations service and email delivery are functioning correctly

• There was simply no new or qualifying content (no likes, no comments, no updates) in the relevant period
