After discarding a draft, previewing newly attached images does not work

previewing images on create page shows 'null' in place of the images (for inserting new files, the files appear as broken links].

this only happens when
1. you goto create page
2. there is a draft for you to discard and you click 'discard draft'
3. then upload an image and preview it
