Problem
When editing a Confluence page, the connection to the Confluence server is sometimes lost. When this happens, attempting to Close or Update the page results in an error, preventing users from saving changes.
Suggested Solution
Newer Jira versions now includes a "Retry Operation" button that automatically re-establishes the connection to the Jira server. We would like to request a similar capability in Confluence.
When a user attempts to Close or Update a page and the server connection is lost, Confluence should automatically attempt to re-establish the connection (or provide "Retry" option), instead of failing with an error.
Why This Is Important
This would significantly improve usability and reduce user frustration.
Workaround
The current workaround is to open a new browser tab and navigate to any other confluence page. This action re-establishes the session/connection, after which the user can return to the original editing tab and successfully close/update the page to push changes to the server.
