The current Confluence guardrails provides valuable guidance on recommended thresholds for index size, number of spaces, and other key data dimensions. However, it lacks detailed, actionable mitigation steps for customers who are approaching or exceeding these thresholds, as well as practical advice on capacity planning and scaling beyond the published guardrails.
Request:
- Please enhance the guardrails documentation by:
-
- Including clear, step-by-step mitigation strategies for each guardrail (e.g., what to do if index size or space count is exceeded, how to optimize or scale infrastructure, etc.).
-
- Providing capacity study examples or case studies that illustrate how large enterprise customers can plan, scale, and maintain Confluence Data Center deployments beyond the current recommended guardrails.
-
- Adding best practices for monitoring, performance tuning, and infrastructure investment to support sustainable growth.
Rationale:
Many enterprise customers have the resources and willingness to invest in larger, centralized Confluence Data Center environments. They need more than just thresholds—they need actionable guidance and real-world examples to help them plan for growth, mitigate risks, and ensure long-term performance and stability. Including this information will make the documentation more practical and valuable for organizations operating at scale.
