Confluence Approvals /approvals — Public REST API for Marketplace Apps

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary:

There is currently no public REST API for Confluence Approvals data. Marketplace apps (including exporters, content managers, and governance tools) cannot programmatically retrieve approval status, approver decisions, timestamps, or approval-related space settings. This blocks apps from including compliant approval metadata in exports, enforcing governance workflows, and integrating with regulated-sector documentation processes.

      • GET /wiki/api/v2/pages/{id}/approvals — returns current approval status, list of approvers with decisions and timestamps, who requested the approval and when, and the version number of the most recently approved revision
      • Approval fields on GET /wiki/api/v2/pages/{id}/versions/{version-number} — so approval state can be retrieved per version for historical exports
      • GET /wiki/api/v2/spaces/{id}/settings or equivalent — to check whether "Require approval before publishing" is enabled in a space (needed for Scroll Content Manager compatibility)

      Steps to Reproduce

      N/A

      Expected Results

Apps can retrieve, for a given page ID (and optionally version number): current approval status, approver list with decisions and timestamps, approval requester details, and the version number of the last approved revision. Space-level approval settings are also accessible via API.

      Actual Results

No approval data is available via any public Confluence REST API (v1 or v2). The page content properties, version history, and content endpoints all return no approval-related fields.
