Confluence custom roles currently allow admins to grant {}Edit content{}, but that permission lets users edit content across the entire space.
It would be helpful to have a separate {}Edit own content{} permission, similar to the existing {}Delete own content{} permission.
The goal is to create a limited contributor role where users can:
- View content in the space
- Create new content
- Edit content they created
- Not edit content created by other users
Adding an *Edit own content* permission would give admins more flexibility when creating custom roles and would support a more practical least-privilege permission model.
Workaround
Today, the only real workaround is using page restrictions, which can become difficult to manage at scale.
