    • Severity 3 - Minor

      Issue Summary

      • Exporting a Confluence page to PDF fails or hangs indefinitely at 0% when the page;
        • Contains a high volume of Expand macros, or
        • Large amounts of content nested inside Expand macros (such as images, nested macros, or large tables).
      • During the export process, Confluence expands and renders all hidden content concurrently, causing the task to exceed the backend processing timeout and fail.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a Confluence page containing numerous Expand macros (or Expand macros holding extensive nested content/media).
      2. Attempt to export the page to PDF
      3. Notice the export remains at 0%

      Expected Results

      • All Expand macro content renders completely and the PDF file downloads.

      Actual Results

      • The export progress remains stuck at 0% until the backend processing timeout is reached, causing the export to fail.

      Workaround

      • Split the page to reduce the total number of Expand macros on the page.
      • Move heavy content (large tables, nested macros, images) out of Expand macros or split the content across multiple sub-pages.
