Current Behaviour:
When a user changes the page width from "narrow" to "wide" (or vice versa) in Confluence Cloud, elements/content placed inside layout macros do not respect the new page width setting. The content within layouts remains at its original width regardless of the page-level width configuration.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create or open a Confluence Cloud page.
- Add a layout macro and insert content inside it.
- Change the page width from "narrow" to "wide" (via page settings or the editor toolbar).
- Observe that content inside the layout macro does not adjust to the new page width.
Expected Behavior:
Content inside layout macros should respect and adapt to the page width setting, expanding or contracting as appropriate when the page width is changed.
Actual Behavior:
Content inside layout macros stays at a fixed width and does not respond to page width changes. Only content outside of layouts adjusts to the new width.
Impact:
This creates an inconsistent user experience where parts of the page respond to width changes and parts do not, leading to visual misalignment and confusing formatting for end users.
Workaround:
Resize the layouts section by editing the page and publish the same.
