Following the global rollout and automatic conversion of the Jira Legacy macro to the new Jira Work Item macro, customers have identified specific UI/UX regressions that impact page readability and layout density.
User Requirements:
*Option to suppress the extra row: *The new macro includes an additional row at the bottom displaying "Last synced: [Time]", "Total items: [Count]", and a "Refresh" button. For pages that use multiple macros or display single-row results, this extra row adds significant vertical whitespace and visual clutter. Users are requesting a toggle in the macro settings to hide this row.
Enhanced Header Visibility: The field headers in the new macro are perceived as too small and lack sufficient contrast compared to the legacy version. Users are requesting the ability to make headers "stand out" more (e.g., bolding, font size adjustment, or background shading).
Use Case:
Many teams use Confluence pages as high-density dashboards or release guidance documents where vertical space is at a premium. The current design of the Jira Work Item macro forces unnecessary scrolling and breaks the visual flow of established templates that have been in use for over 10 years.
