Description
When users type in the Confluence search bar, it surfaces suggestions for people within the organization — including individuals the user has never interacted with or may not even know. Currently, there is no customer-facing option to disable or control these people suggestions from the search bar.
This is a privacy and user experience concern for customers, especially those with external collaborators on their Confluence instance. Organizations need the ability to control whether people suggestions appear in the Confluence search bar to:
- Prevent external users from discovering internal staff members they shouldn't have visibility into
- Comply with internal privacy and security policies
- Reduce noise in search results for users who are only looking for content, not people
