Issue Summary
When a Live Doc contains large images, especially those captured and uploaded directly from an iPhone camera, the images appear cropped in the exported PDF. This issue occurs only with Live Doc content; standard Confluence pages do not crop the same images.
It seems that the export engine for Live Docs fails to calculate the dimensions or aspect ratio of high-resolution mobile images correctly unless a manual "Resize" action in the editor refreshes the image metadata.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new Live Doc in Confluence Cloud.
- Upload a large image taken directly from an iPhone camera (typically high resolution/HEIC or large JPEG).
- Leave the image at the default upload size.
- Go to ... (More Actions menu) > Export and select PDF.
- Open the exported file.
Expected Results
The image should be rendered fully and maintain its original aspect ratio within the document bounds, just like what happens with a regular page with images uploaded directly from iPhone camera.
Actual Results
In the export file, the image is cropped (often cutting off the sides), splitting large images across multiple pages. Consequently, the full content of the photo is not visible in the export.

Workaround
- Convert to Page: Move the content to a regular Confluence page before exporting. Regular pages do not crop these images during export.
- Manual Resize Trigger: In the Live Doc editor, click on the image and select the Resize option from the View more (...) menu. You do not need to change the values; simply clicking "Resize" and pressing Enter forces the editor to re-process the image dimensions, which prevents the cropping in the export.
