Summary of the request

When configuring a Smart Section's "Create Action" on a Confluence Whiteboard, users are unable to select the Start Date and End Date fields from the field picker. These fields are not available in the configuration panel, limiting the ability to set date ranges when dragging Jira work items into the section.

Use case and business impact

Teams use Confluence Whiteboards for release planning workflows — importing existing Jira work items, discussing them with release engineers, and planning them across different teams using Smart Sections. The ability to set Start and End Date fields in Smart Sections would allow teams to assign date ranges in bulk during planning sessions, without having to update each issue individually in Jira.

Expected behavior

Start Date and End Date fields should be available as selectable fields in the Smart Section "Create Action" configuration panel, alongside the currently supported fields (e.g., assignee, labels, status).

Current behavior

Start Date and End Date are not listed in the field picker when configuring a Smart Section action.

Known workarounds and why they are insufficient

Users can manually update Start/End Date on each Jira issue individually, but this does not meet the needs of teams doing bulk planning across multiple work items within Whiteboards.
