      Issue Summary

When multiple images with links and captions (titles) are inserted vertically (stacked) in a Confluence Cloud page, the captions disappear after updating the page.
This issue only occurs when each image has a link applied.
If images are inserted without links, captions remain visible as expected.
Internally, the affected images are converted to the inline-media-image format after saving, causing the captions to be lost.
This behavior is reproducible in both customer and internal environments.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open a Confluence Cloud page in the new editor.
      2. Insert two images vertically, one after another (no empty line between them).
      3. For each image, add a link (e.g., to another page or external URL).
      4. For each image, set a caption (title) using the "Add caption" field below the image.
      5. Publish or update the page.
      6. Observe the images on the published page.

      Expected Results

      • Both images should display their respective captions (titles) and links as set in the editor, regardless of their vertical placement.

      Actual Results

      • After publishing/updating, both images are converted to the inline-media-image format.
      • The captions (titles) disappear and are not displayed below the images.
      • This issue only occurs when images have links applied and are stacked vertically without separation.
      • If images do not have links, or if an empty line is inserted between them, captions are displayed correctly.

      Workaround

      • Insert an empty line (press Enter) between each linked image when placing multiple images vertically.
This separation prevents the issue, and captions/titles are displayed as expected after updating the page.
      • Alternatively, do not apply links to the images if captions must be preserved in a stacked layout.
