Problem
- If the user/service account set as a rule’s Actor becomes inactive, the rule silently stops triggering.
- In the rules list, the rule still appears enabled, so admins can’t diagnose the issue without opening the rule and inspecting the Actor field.
Impact
- Hidden failures lead to missed automations and time-consuming troubleshooting.
Proposed solution
- Automatically disable any rule whose Actor becomes inactive.
- In the rules list, show the rule as Disabled with an error icon and reason: “Actor is inactive.”
- In the rule details page, display a prominent banner with the same reason and a quick action to change the Actor.
- Optional: notify rule owners/admins when a rule is auto-disabled for this reason.
