Issue Summary
Currently, there is no official documentation or UI indication of the limits for HTML space exports in Confluence (e.g., the maximum number of pages or the total size of the space that can be exported). Users are not informed about these limits in either the documentation or the UI during the export process. As a result, users may attempt exports that exceed backend limits, leading to failed exports without clear guidance.
Steps to Reproduce
- Initiate an HTML export for a large space.
- Check the result
Suggestion:
- Clearly document any existing limits for HTML space exports (e.g., maximum number of pages, maximum space size, or other relevant constraints) in the official Confluence documentation.
- Add a warning or informational message in the UI when a user selects a space for HTML export and the space statistics (number of pages, attachments, or total size) exceed or approach these limits.
- If possible, provide recommendations or alternative solutions for exporting large spaces.
Benefits:
- Improves user experience by setting clear expectations and reducing failed export attempts.
- Saves time for both users and support teams by proactively communicating limitations.
- Helps users plan exports more effectively, especially for large or complex spaces.
Use Case:
A user attempts to export a large space to HTML but is unaware of backend limits. The export fails without a clear reason, leading to confusion and unnecessary support requests. Documentation and UI warnings would prevent this scenario.
