Converted pages with legacy-colored, bold inline text now show awkward spacing, making previously clear instructions look broken.

      Issue Summary

A numbered list item that uses legacy inline color spans, non‑breaking spaces, and bold text now renders with large visible gaps between words in the new editor. The customer reports that this step previously appeared as a normal, continuous sentence. The current storage shows “legacy-color-text-blue3” spans and multiple   entities; in the new editor UI this combination looks visually “broken”.

      Steps to Reproduce

Exact authoring sequence in the original legacy page is unknown. Steps below describe how to approximate the pattern seen in the customer’s storage format.

      1. In the legacy editor, create an ordered list.
      1. In one list item, type a sentence like:
In Active select Yes and in the Statistical Group field enter the name of the Statistical Group created in the previous step.
      1. Apply legacy text color (e.g. blue) to several separate chunks of the sentence (not the whole line), so the storage contains multiple <span class="legacy-color-text-..."> elements, each wrapping partial text plus spaces.
      1. Apply bold to some of the words inside those colored chunks (e.g. Active, Yes, Statistical Group, name), so that bold spans are nested inside the colored spans.
      1. Ensure there are spaces around these chunks while typing, which will be stored as   between spans.
      1. Save the legacy page, then convert it to the new editor (auto‑conversion / viewing after legacy editor deprecation).
      1. Open the converted page in the new editor and view the list item.

      Expected Results

      • The list item renders as a visually continuous sentence, similar to how the customer remembers seeing it in legacy:

In Active select Yes and in the Statistical Group field enter the name of the Statistical Group created in the previous step.

      • Inline color and bold do not introduce large visual gaps between words.

      Actual Results

      • In the new editor UI, the same line appears with noticeable gaps between several segments, especially around bold phrases. The customer perceives this as “extra spaces / line breaks inserted and messed up.”

      Workaround

Manual workaround: edit the list item, strip legacy color/extra spaces, retype the sentence as one line, and re‑apply basic bold.
