Summary
When viewing Confluence Cloud pages that contain Jira links/macros in recent Chrome versions (e.g. 144), users see a Chrome “local network access” permission prompt (LNA). This is triggered by Jira content loaded in iframes and is perceived by customers as a security risk and a bad UX.
Customer Ask
Provide a way to avoid or centrally control this Chrome LNA prompt for Atlassian Cloud products, for example by:
- Reducing or eliminating unnecessary local/private network calls from Jira/Confluence.
- Offering admin‑level configuration or clear guidance to:
- prevent the prompt where local access is not needed, or
- explicitly scope and document when it is required.
Impact
- Users are confronted with a scary‑sounding browser dialog when simply opening a Confluence page with Jira content.
- Security‑sensitive customers consider “Allow” to be a potential policy violation.
- Admins lack clear, product‑side controls and official guidance beyond Chrome’s generic documentation.
