Summary
In Confluence databases, when a new field is added while working in board view, there is no straightforward way to remove that field from the same view.
To delete an unwanted field, users currently need to:
- Switch from board view to table view.
- Locate the relevant field (for example, a tag or custom field) in the table.
- Open its field settings.
- Manually delete each tag/value or remove the field from there.
This multi-step workflow is unintuitive and slows down users who are primarily working in board view, especially when they are experimenting with fields or cleaning up unused ones. A direct delete or manage-fields option in the board view itself would make the experience far more efficient and understandable.
Suggestion for Implementation
Add a field management control directly in board view (e.g., via a column header menu or board-level “Manage fields” option) that allows users to remove fields without switching to table view.
